The Postgraduate Programme in Engineering Management at the Faculty of
Engineering, University of Peradeniya is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills required for
graduate engineers to successfully manage engineering operations and projects, work in multidisciplinary
teams and to advance their careers towards global business environment managerial levels in Engineering
Organizations. While absorbing dynamic nature of global, industrial business environments and to cater
the expectations of graduate engineers, the programme has been revised recently.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Postgraduate Diploma (SLQF L8)

A total of 25 credits earned with at least 2.75 GPA from prescribed courses including an
advanced study of 4 credits.
- Master of Engineering/Masters Degrees (SLQF L9)
-
A total of 30 credits with at least 3.0 GPA from the prescribed courses including an
advanced study of 6 credits.
- Master of the Science of Engineering /Masters
Degrees (SLQF L10)
-
A total of 30 credits from the prescribed courses with at least 3.0 GPA and successfully
completed a research study of 30 credits.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Postgraduate Diploma
A Bachelors’ Degree acceptable to the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee,
or
Such other qualifications as may be approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for
candidature for PG Dip in a field related to the programme of study.
Degree of Master of the Science of Engineering
A Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering with First or Second Class Honours
or
A Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering with acceptable postgraduate qualifications
or
A degree or such other qualifications equivalent to Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering as may be
approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for candidature for the MSc Eng degree
with
a minimum of one years’ experience, after obtaining the degree or such other qualification, in a field
related to the programme of study
