The Manufacturing Engineering Association (MEA) is a university registered society comprising of academic staff and students of the department. MEA was formerly known as PESS - Production Engineering Student's Society.

		PERSONAL BRANDING WITH LINKEDIN The first online MEA talk for the year 2021 organized by the Manufacturing Engineering Association of University of Peradeniya, Faculty of Engineering was held very successfully on 15th of January 2021, from 5.00 pm using the Zoom platform. The guest speaker for the day was Ms Jency Paul, who is currently working as a Global Recruitment specialist at Unilever, one of the most reputed multinational companies in the world. Ms Jency Paul started the talk by focusing on some interesting facts about recruitment before moving on to explain her own experience. She enlightened the audience about the importance of LinkedIn for a professional nowadays. Further, she discussed 6 simple steps to level up the LinkedIn profile with many real-time examples. Adding on Ms Jency explained how undergraduates can use their LinkedIn profile to find the most suitable job in the corporate.

		EXPLORE ENTREPRENEURSHIP WITH AN EXPERT The second online MEA virtual interview of 2021 organized by the Manufacturing Engineering Association of University of Peradeniya, Faculty of Engineering along with the Young Entrepreneurs Society of University of Peradeniya on 24th January 2021 at 4.00 pm using Zoom platform. The guest speaker for the day was Mr Tharindu Dassanayake Founder & CEO of “ShoutOUT” and a proud alumnus of the engineering faculty. It was extremely informative, interesting, and eye-opening for our undergraduate who is willing to start a career as an entrepreneur. Furthermore, he shared his personal experiences as an entrepreneur, and it was a great motivation for all the undergraduates who participated.
