Biography : :

  • Chamila Walgampaya earned his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering with honours in November 2001 from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He joined the Department of Engineering Mathematics, University of Peradeniya in December 2001. In August 2004 he received the Fulbright scholarship to study in the School of Engineering at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A., where he earned his MS in May 2006. Thesis title of his research is "Cost-benefit Analysis in Multiple Time Series Prediction," where he focused on developing a new methodology for the selection of an optimal subset of sensors for a prediction system from a distributed network of energy producing plants.

    He earned his Ph.D. in August 2011 from the School of Engineering at the University of Louisville. For his Ph.D., he worked on developing a novel click fraud detection and prevention system for Internet advertising. His dissertation titled is "Click Fraud: how to spot it? how to stop it?" He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Engineering Mathematics, University of Peradeniya.
