Faculty of Engineering welcomed esteemed delegates from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad. Dr Tanmoy Maity, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Associate Dean of International Relations and Alumni Affairs, along with Mr Mritunjay Sharma, Assistant Registrar of International Relations and Alumni Affairs, visited the Faculty on 30th August 2024, to explore potential research collaborations and opportunities for staff and students.
The delegates met with Prof Lilantha Samaranayake, the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Dr Panduka Neluwala, the Faculty representative for InRO, and Dr Isuru Dasanayake, the Department representative for international activities. During their visit, they discussed a range of collaborative research initiatives and opportunities for academic exchange between the two institutions.
The delegates’ visit to the Faculty of Engineering followed their meeting with Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Vice Chancellor, earlier in the morning. The productive discussions laid the groundwork for a fruitful partnership between IIT Dhanbad and the University of Peradeniya.
