Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering (DCE) at the University of Peradeniya, established over 75 years ago, is the oldest and one of the most prestigious civil engineering schools in Sri Lanka. Each year, approximately 450 students are admitted to the Faculty of Engineering to pursue the bachelor’s degree, with around 150 choosing to specialize in Civil Engineering. In addition to delivering the specialized civil engineering program, the department also conducts foundational first-semester courses for all engineering undergraduates and offers civil engineering modules for other engineering disciplines.
