Tier 4* Research Excellence Award

The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, is proud to announce that Prof. C.S. Bandara has received the Tier 4* Research Excellence Award, presented at the Peradeniya University International Research Sessions (iPURSE) 2026.

The Research Excellence Award is conferred by the University Research Council (URC) on permanent staff members who reach the Tier 4* category of the transparent research performance scheme set out in UGC Circular 05/2018. Eligibility is based on the h-index, a measure of both research productivity and citation impact. In Engineering, Tier 4* requires an h-index of at least 14. This places Prof. Bandara among the most highly cited researchers at the University.
