The final meeting of the SECRA (Strengthening University-enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia) Project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union was held in Kandy (Earl’s Regency Hotel) and the University of Peradeniya from 18th to 21st March 2024, hosted by the University of Peradeniya.
More than 80 academics/ researchers/ students from the 13 partner universities, the University of Ruhuna, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the Mid Sweden University – Sweden, the University of Huddersfield and University of Central Lancashire – UK, Tallinn University – Estonia, Naresuan University, Chieng Mai University and Mahasarakham University – Thailand, Ateneo de Manila University, Philippine Normal University and Malayan College Laguna – the Philippines and the University of Peradeniya attended this meeting.
One of the main events of this meeting was held on 21st March 2024 at the Senate Room of the University of Peradeniya with the participation of the Vice Chancellor Prof. M. D. Lamawansa, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Terrence Madhujith, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering Dr. Udaya Dissanayake, the Head, Department of Civil Engineering Prof. J. J. Wijetunge, the Director BLII-TTO, Prof. Darshana Yapa and several other deans of faculties. The importance of University-enterprise collaboration and collaborations among the universities for the future development of the nations was highlighted throughout the meeting.
