Applications are entertained from graduates with the Bachelor of the Science of Engineering Honours specialized in Civil Engineering or B.Sc. Honours degree specializing in Quantity Surveying Sciences/ Geomatics or equivalent from a recognized and reputed university.
Postgraduate qualifications in one or more of the following areas from a reputed university as applicable and stipulated in the relevant circulars is a required qualification for Lecturer (Unconfirmed) and Senior Lecturer Gr.II/I posts.

* Structural Engineering
* Highway and Pavement Design
* Building Economics and Quantity Surveying
* Construction Management Faculty of Engineering 12
* Materials Science and Engineering
* Civil Engineering Project Management/Economics and Financing
* Advanced Surveying
* Geotechnical Engineering
* Advanced Surveying/Geographical Information System & Remote Sensing
Preference will be given to applicants with recent postgraduate qualification in the above areas. Expertise in use and development of modern computational tools and related software in the above areas will be an added qualification.
The Department of Civil Engineering comprising three main divisions, viz., Material and Structural Engineering, Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering offers a broad spectrum of courses in the Civil Engineering Specialization as well as in the General Programme and in the other Specializations in the Faculty of Engineering.
The department offers postgraduate programmes in five areas of specialization. These include taught programmes, viz., PGDip
(by coursework), MEng, MScEng and MSc as well as research leading to PGDip (by research), MPhil and PhD.
The academic staff of the department together with their undergraduate and postgraduate students are involved in a diverse range of research covering a broad spectrum of topics.
Such research is mostly designed to address requirements of the civil engineering practice and the industry.
