Department of Civil Engineering

Overview

Department of Civil Engineering, University of Peradeniya, with a history of 65 years, is the oldest of its kind in Sri Lanka. Of the 420 students, who are currently admitted to the Faculty of Engineering annually, about 150 students specialize in Civil Engineering from their second year of study. In addition to the conduct of Civil Engineering programme, the department contributes to teaching of all engineering undergraduates in the first year and also conducts Civil Engineering oriented courses for other engineering programmes from the second year onwards. The department has a strong relationship with the industry and utilizes their services in curriculum development and the teaching programme in order to produce Civil Engineering graduates of the highest standard...
