Mr. D.D.Dias is a lecturer affiliated to the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. He has earned his Master of Engineering (MEng) from Hokkaido University, Japan in 2011. Upon the return to the country, he resumes his duty at the Faculty at the capacity of a lecturer. During his undergraduate tenure he has involved in the development of a flood warning systems for Kaluganga, Ratnapura, using HecRas 1-D software. His MEng study research was mostly polarized on sediment transport and mathematical modelling, which are an integral fields related to the flood modelling. He has acted as the chief consultant on weir design, calibration projects, feasibility studies on water supply projects and renewable energy related projects. Further, he has been serving as a resource person for series of workshops conducted in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on flood modelling using HecRas 2D and Flo2D softwares.
