What is CC
About Us
COMPUTING CENTRE The University Computing Centre (CC) was established in 1971 when the University acquired an IBM 1130 Computing System, the first in the country. In 1973 the CC was moved to a new building. The Computing Centre was absorbed into the newly established Department of Computer Sciences in 1985. Since 1995 it has been functioning as an independent unit. During the eighties, the Centre began to acquire microcomputers.
The Computing Centre manages and maintains three fully equipped computer laboratories that provide access to networked workstations, wireless Internet connectivity, facilities for students using personal laptops, and a diverse suite of software applications required for engineering education and research. The laboratories support a wide range of academic activities, including teaching, practical classes, project work, training programmes, computer-based assessments, and online examinations.
