English Language Teaching Unit
The English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya plays a vital role in enhancing students’ English language proficiency. Designed to support the academic and professional development of engineering undergraduates, the ELTU provides a structured program that bridges the gap between school-level English and the language demands of university education. Through engaging coursework and interactive learning, the unit equips students with the communication skills essential for success in both their studies and future careers.

About Us
English Language Teaching Unit is established to provide high quality English Language skills for the undergraduates. It is usually known as ELTU among the faculty community. The medium of the degree program is English in the faculty and this unit urges its students to persistent the challengers which they meet in their careers.
This Unit conducts regular classes for first and second years students and as well as third year students. They held classes for the non academic staff, on request.
There is a well-equipped language laboratory with audio and video facilities for 30 students. Also a master control unit for teachers.
