Collaborative Research Grant with Hokkaido University, Japan

Dr. R.M.L.D. Rathnayake from the Department of Civil Engineering is collaborating with Prof. Hisashi Satoh from the Graduate School of Engineering, Hokkaido University, under a research grant awarded by the Government of Japan. The total grant amounts to 100 million JPY, through which the Department of Civil Engineering will receive experimental facilities valued at approximately LKR 70 million. The project aims to investigate and enhance the performance of onsite wastewater treatment systems using advanced molecular techniques, including real-time PCR, to improve treatment efficiency and sustainability.
