MathXplore Session I – 2025/01/29

The Engineering Mathematics Society of the University of Peradeniya successfully hosted its very first MathXplore session on 29th January 2025 at Seminar Room 1,
Faculty of Engineering. The event featured an inspiring talk by Dr. Gayana Jayasinghe, a distinguished alumnus with a PhD in Pure Mathematics. Her session,
titled “Mathematics, Engineering Education, and Beyond”, offered deep insights into the role of mathematics in engineering, practical advice for academic development,
and forward-thinking ideas on transforming education for the future. The event was a resounding success, igniting enthusiasm among students and staff alike, and
reinforcing the importance of mathematics in shaping engineering innovation.
