Registration Now Open for PeraBots 2026:
Sri Lanka’s Premier National Robotics Competition, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka — The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Society (EEES), in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DEEE) at the University of Peradeniya and the Robotics Society, UOP, is excited to announce that registrations are officially open for PeraBots 2026.
As the flagship annual robotics event of DEEE, PeraBots returns to bring together over 500 young innovators and 100+ teams from schools and universities across the nation. Designed to foster innovation, hands-on engineering, and technical leadership, the competition challenges participants to design, build, and program autonomous robotics solutions to solve real-world engineering problems.
Dual-Category Structure & Competition Phases
PeraBots 2026 is structured into two main categories, taking participants on a progressive journey from virtual design to real-world deployment:
1). School Category: Ideal for young enthusiasts building foundational skills.
- -- Phase 1 (Online Challenge): Design, simulate, and program autonomous robots using Open Roberta Lab.
- -- Phase 2 (Physical Finals): Build and bring physical robots to the live competition arena at the University of Peradeniya.
2). University Category: Aimed at undergraduate engineers exploring advanced autonomous systems.
- -- Phase 1 (Online Challenge): Develop and test algorithms, PID controllers, and autonomous navigation within the Webots simulation platform.
- -- Phase 2 (Physical Finals): Deploy physical hardware to navigate complex real-world challenges in the final round.
Comprehensive Workshop & Webinar Series
To support participants throughout their journey, the organizing team is hosting a dedicated 10-Step Webinar Series, along with hands-on workshops and guest speaker sessions featuring industry experts and researchers.
Key Learning Topics Include:
- - Introduction to Robotics & Sensor Integration
- - Autonomous Navigation & PID Control Techniques
- - Robot Modeling & Simulation (Open Roberta Lab & Webots)
- - Real-world Applications of AI & Robotics
