The closing ceremony of SCaPES-PROMODE 4.0, organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering Students (SCaPES), was successfully held on June 4, 2025, at the Prof. E.O.E. Pereira Theatre, Faculty of Engineering, from 6.00 p.m. onwards.
This year’s competition brought together 40 students forming 5 teams, who took on the challenge of developing valuable products from industrial waste in Sri Lanka. With 8 innovative products presented across 2 major tasks, the event highlighted the creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills of the participants—skills honed over weeks of dedication and many sleepless nights.
The grand finale gave these talented students the platform to showcase their work to peers, academics, and industry professionals. The evening concluded with the announcement of the winning team and the Most Popular Team, both of whom were recognized and awarded for their outstanding performance.
PROMODE 4.0 once again proved to be a remarkable initiative, fostering innovation and sustainable thinking among future engineers.
