    Preamble

    The Faculty of Engineering, through its Departments of Study, offers several postgraduate programmes with combinations of lectures, coursework and research in varying proportions and scope that lead to diplomas/degrees at seven levels:

  • Postgraduate Diploma – PG.Dip. (SLQF* L8)
  • Degree of Master of Engineering – M.Eng. (SLQF L9)
  • Masters Degree (SLQF L9)
  • Degree of Master of the Science of Engineering – M.Sc.Eng. (SLQF L10)
  • Degree of Master of Science – M.Sc. (SLQF L10)
  • Degree of Master of Philosophy – M.Phil. (SLQF L11)
  • Degree of Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. (SLQF L12)

    There are two types of postgraduate programmes:

  • Taught Programmes
  • Research Programmes
  • Moreover, these postgraduate programmes admit both full-time and part-time candidates in order to accommodate students with diverse professional backgrounds and varying degrees of financial and time constraints. It is not only those who are seeking academic and research careers, the engineers in the industry are also increasingly aware of the benefits of such courses to update and advance their knowledge.

    Students are admitted to any one of the four distinct categories:

  • Regular full-time postgraduate student
  • Regular part-time postgraduate student
  • Provisional student
  • Casual student
  • Postgraduate Diploma/Degree Programmes are offered by following Departments of Study:
