Our Main Events

PROMODE

PROMODE, short for Process Modelling, is a dynamic two-day competitive event organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya. At its core, PROMODE celebrates the art and science of modelling and designing engineering processes, challenging students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical, real-world solutions.

The program is designed to promote innovation, collaboration, and practical problem-solving among undergraduate engineering students. By bringing together participants from different academic years, PROMODE creates a platform that mirrors real world engineering environments where teamwork, creativity, and technical knowledge are essential. The event challenges students to address real-life engineering and societal problems through innovative thinking while enhancing both technical and soft skills.

VOYAGE and Career Fair

VOYAGE is the annual research symposium and career fair organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya, where the intellectual journey of every process engineering student finds its grandest stage.

Born from the belief that groundbreaking research deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated, VOYAGE creates a dynamic platform where undergraduate students proudly showcase their innovative research, cutting-edge projects, and engineering solutions crafted to address real-world challenges in chemical, process, and allied engineering fields.

IsoTalks and isoTools Series

isoTalks and isoTools Series is an enriching knowledge-sharing series organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya, designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry for aspiring chemical and process engineers.

By bringing together distinguished industry experts and experienced professionals, isoTalks delivers valuable insights into real-world applications, emerging technologies, and evolving industry trends that shape the future of chemical engineering.

SCaPES Cricket Tournament

The SCAPES Cricket Tournament is an annual celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie held within the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

Bringing together undergraduate students from all academic years alongside the department’s academic staff, this thrilling tournament transcends the boundaries of lecture halls and laboratories, uniting the entire SCAPES family on the cricket pitch in a spirit of friendly yet fierce competition.

CHEMA

CHEMA, fondly known as “Padura”, is the ultimate celebration of fun, talent, creativity and togetherness organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

Bursting with music, dance, laughter, and humor, CHEMA is where the SCAPES family sets aside the textbooks and comes alive in the truest sense.

More than just an entertainment night, it is a cherished gathering that celebrates the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood shared among all Chemical and Process engineering students, a night of pure joy, unforgettable moments, and memories woven together by the spirit of one family.

CHEMCOURT

CHEMCOURT is the annual badminton tournament that breathes excitement and friendly rivalry into the heart of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

Where shuttlecocks soar and competitive spirits run high, CHEMCOURT brings together undergraduate students from all academic years alongside academic and non-academic staff, transforming the court into a vibrant arena of skill, energy, and shared passion.

Department Welcome- CHEMORE

CHEMORE is the official departmental welcome event organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya, thoughtfully designed to introduce newly enrolled students to the academic landscape, culture, and community of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering.

More than a celebration, CHEMORE serves as an important orientation platform where freshers gain their first meaningful insight into the academic journey ahead.

Department Farewell- ADIOS

ADIOS is the heartfelt farewell event organized by the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya, dedicated to honoring and celebrating the departure of the final year batch as they take their most significant step beyond the walls of the department.

More than a farewell, ADIOS is a deeply meaningful occasion that marks the culmination of years of hard work, growth, friendships, and memories shared within the SCaPES family.
