Message from IEEE Chair
The IEEE Student Branch, University of Peradeniya is one of the outstanding and very active student branches in the world thanks to the commitment and heartily dedication of our student members and IEEE senior members.
Peradeniya Student Branch was established for the benefit of the students who are with IEEE. Our student branch has carried out so many events to provide facilities to students in the fields of Telecommunication, Robotics, Electronics and Power since 19th of July, 2001 and these events were organized to develop students’ social as well as professional skills. Among those field trips to MDF board manufacturing company, Galle SVC, Hambantota Wind Power Plant, Heladanavi Diesel Power Plant, Laxapana Hydro Power plant and Norochcholai Coal Power Plant were very remarkable for the students. Workshops from most famous companies like Huawei, Dialog, Ceylon Electricity Board and talks from valuable resource persons were very much helpful to the students who are with IEEE while they also encouraged the other students to join IEEE.
Considering the enthusiasm of the students and the success of the organized events, I am more than happy about the progress of our student branch and it is not a secret that our student branch will continue to be the best in the world in future. So my colleges, who wish to be members of IEEE, shake your hands with us to endeavor the future with IEEE as others do.
