Bandara has received the Tier 4* Research Excellence Award, presented at the Peradeniya University International Research Sessions (iPURSE) 2026.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Research Excellence Award is conferred by the University Research Council (URC) on permanent staff members who reach the Tier 4* category of the transparent research performance scheme set out in UGC Circular 05\/2018. Eligibility is based on the h-index, a measure of both research productivity and citation impact. In Engineering, Tier 4* requires an h-index of at least 14.
