The conference was organized by\u00a0<strong>The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM)<\/strong>\u00a0under the theme\u00a0<em>\u201cThe Intersection of Climate Science, Adaptation, and Climate Financing: Focus on the Global South and Inclusivity.\u201d<\/em> The conference was convened by\u00a0<strong>Prof. Erika Coppola<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<strong>Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Prof. Roshanka (Rosh) Ranasinghe<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>IHE Delft and Deltares, The Netherlands<\/strong>. From the Department,\u00a0<strong>Prof. S. B. Weerakoon<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dr. N. G. P. B. Neluwala<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dr. Gouri De Silva<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Dr. Chandima Gunawardane<\/strong>\u00a0participated in the event.<br><strong>Dr. Panduka Neluwala<\/strong>\u00a0contributed as a\u00a0<strong>plenary speaker<\/strong>, while staff members also served as\u00a0<strong>evaluators and presenters<\/strong>. The conference featured\u00a0<strong>nine presentations<\/strong>\u00a0by the Department\u2019s\u00a0<strong>undergraduate and postgraduate students<\/strong>, showcasing their research on climate change, hydrology, and water resources. <strong>Dr. Gouri De Silva<\/strong>\u00a0received the\u00a0<strong>Best Session Presentation Award<\/strong>\u00a0in the category\u00a0<em>\u201cModeling, Monitoring, and Adapting Water Systems in a Changing Climate,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Mr. D. K. A. I. Ravindu<\/strong>\u00a0was recognized as the\u00a0<strong>Best Student Presenter<\/strong>\u00a0in the\u00a0<strong>virtual session<\/strong>.
