Visit of Delegates from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, India to the University of Peradeniya

Project on Sustainable Construction Practice Through the Preparation of Precast Concrete Blocks
Using Construction Demolition and Plastic Waste, Department of Civil Engineering, Veer Surendra Sai
University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, Odisha, India, undertook an official visit to the University of
Peradeniya from 31st August to 6th September 2025. He was accompanied by Mr. Ashutosh Nanda,
Research Fellow of VSSUT. The research project is jointly funded by the Governments of Sri Lanka and India.
During their stay, the delegates held discussions with Prof. Lilantha Samaranayake, Dean of the
Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Kushan Wijesundara, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering,
focusing on strengthening academic and research collaborations between the two institutions. The
visitors also engaged in academic meetings and workshops, and participated in several technical and
cultural activities hosted by the University of Peradeniya.
The visit was coordinated by Prof. Chaminda S. Bandara, the University of Peradeniya Coordinator of
