The department of Civil Engineering comprising of three main divisions,\nviz. Material and Structural Engineering, Hydraulics and Environmental\nEngineering, Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering offers diverse\ncourses not only in the civil engineering programme but also in the\nGeneral Programme and in the other Specialization Programmes in the\nFaculty of Engineering.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u201cThe mission of the Faculty is to acquire, promote and disseminate\nknowledge of engineering sciences and their application to improve\nthe quality of life, and in particular, to equip present and future\ngenerations of men and women with skills and attitudes to attain\ncompetence as professional engineers, and to interact with industry\nby providing expertise and specialised facilities\u201d.<\/p><\/div>\n

The course in Civil Engineering is designed to equip students with a\nthorough grounding of mathematics, engineering sciences and technology,\nwith a good understanding of the basic principles of core subjects in\nCivil Engineering, embracing theory, analysis and design.<\/p>\n

A good grasp of the fundamentals of mechanical and electrical engineering,\ncomputing and software-based applications, communication skills, and\ncomplementary studies including economics, management, health, safety,\nrisk, sustainability, professional ethics and industrial training in an\nengineering environment, is ensured.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
