On successful completion of the course, the students should be able to;<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

  1. Distinguish industrial waste management from municipal waste management.<\/li>\n
  2. Explain waste monitoring, reporting and control in relation to national, regional and international policy and legal aspects.<\/li>\n
  3. Recognize importance of in-plant waste management, waste & wastewater treatment systems and application of environmental management systems.<\/li>\n
  4. Evaluate options available for planning, designing and execution of industrial waste management programs.<\/li>\n
  5. Design industrial waste management programs with consideration of operation and maintenance of such systems, with the use of Best Available Technologies (BAT).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

  2. Legal and policy aspects : <\/a>National, regional and international rules and agreements<\/li>\n
  3. In-plant waste management : <\/a>(Waste Minimization, Cleaner Production, Reclamation and Reuse), Environmental Management Systems and related case studies<\/li>\n
  4. Industrial wastewater management : <\/a>primary, secondary and tertiary treatment unit processes for industrial wastewater treatment (specialized physical, chemical and biological treatment options)<\/li>\n
  5. Industrial solid waste management<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n
