On successful completion of the course, the students should be able to;<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Describe different stress-strain models of soils and apply them to interpret real soil behaviour under static and dynamic conditions.<\/li>\n
  2. Evaluate failure conditions of soil structures using limit theorems of plasticity.<\/li>\n
  3. Interpret the behaviour of soils using critical state framework.<\/li>\n
  4. Explain stress-strain behaviour of rocks and analyse geological structures<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n

  4. Critical state soil mechanics, Cam-clay models of soil behaviour<\/li>\n
  5. Dynamic behaviour of soils and rocks<\/li>\n
  6. Stress-strain behavior of rocks by mechanical and ultrasonic wave velocity methods<\/li>\n
