<strong>Introduction to highway planning and route planning: <\/strong>Development of highways, four-stage method of highway planning.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Highway construction material improvements and construction techniques: <\/strong>Main highway construction materials, testing and improvement of construction materials, alternative construction materials, machinery and construction techniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Traffic analysis: <\/strong>Types of pavements, subgrade considerations, Equivalent Axle Load Factor (EALF) &amp; Equivalent Single Axle Load (ESAL) calculation, estimation of design traffic.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Pavement design using mechanistic approach: <\/strong>AASHTO road test, history of AASHTO method, AASHTO design consideration, performance criteria for flexible and rigid pavements, AASHTO flexible and rigid pavement design procedures.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Highway geometric design and basic design criteria: <\/strong>Alignment (horizontal and vertical), cross section, design standards, basic design criteria, sight distance, design procedure.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
