One of the major research areas of the Department is energy studies related to chemical and process industries that include combustion, gasification, fluidisation, fluidised bed drying, drying of solids and solutions and renewable energy technologies. Environmental pollution control engineering related to process industries, the energy sector, and the transport sector is the other major research area of the department. In addition, the department conducts research in computer\u00ad aided design, food engineering and control in chemical engineering and biochemical engineering, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, UOP.<\/p><p>The department offers a postgraduate programme in Environmental Pollution Control Engineering (EPCEng) leading to Postgraduate Diploma, MSc and MScEng in EPCEng and offering MPhils and PhDs in diverse chemical engineering branches.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-244b749 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"244b749\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7fc99a9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7fc99a9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/eng.pdn.ac.lk\/chemical\/postgraduate-diploma-pg-dip-in-epc-eng\/\">Postgraduate Diploma (PG.
