  • Biography

    Ubaya Higgoda graduated from the University of Peradeniya after having completed the B.Sc. (Eng) honors degree program in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. He completed the M.Sc. degree, with a major in information technology, at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2012. Afterwards, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Peradeniya and continues to serve as a lecturer to date. During the study leave period from 2016-2019 he moved to Erlangen and worked as a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Advanced Optical Technologies-Thermophysical Properties in the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. He was awarded the Doctor of Engineering degree (Dr.-Ing.) for the thesis written on “Improvement of the predictive power of molecular dynamics simulations for the determination of transport properties demonstrated for selected fluid systems”, which was supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Andreas Paul Fröba. Ubaya’s main research interests include molecular modelling and simulation of condensed matter and fluids related to energy engineering, and biological systems.
