These societies are either university-based or faculty-based. The larger societies in the Faculty of Engineering are departmental groups, which have been in existence long enough to develop their own conventions and traditions. They are the Society of Chemical and Process Engineering Students (SCaPES), the Civil Engineering Society (CES) Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES), the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Society (EEES), the Mechanical Engineering Society (MES), and the Manufacturing Engineering Association (MEA).
