Prof. Jayantha Kodikara, Professor of Geomechanics Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Monash University, visited the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, on Thursday, 18th December 2025.
He was warmly welcomed by the Head, Department of Civil Engineering, followed by a meeting with the Head of the Department. Subsequently, Prof. Kodikara delivered a presentation titled “Ground Beneath: Sustainable Geotechnical Solutions for a Resilient Nation” to the academic staff of the department, which was followed by an engaging discussion on ongoing research activities. The visit concluded with a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, during which ideas were exchanged and potential avenues for future collaboration were explored.
