 PHES is an abbreviation used for the Power, High Voltage and Energy Systems Club   which is affiliated to the Department  of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Peradeniya.
 

Vision


To be one of the leading clubs in the country that can promote activities in the distinctive area of power systems, high voltage engineering and energy systems.

 

Mission


To bring the academia, industrialist and students who have direct and indirect interest towards power systems, high voltage engineering and energy systems into a common platform thus forming an environment for knowledge sharing, information exchange, and professional development while working towards the betterment of the membership and the society.

 

The objects of the PHES are,


          a) To share research outcome of projects carried out by members of the PHES.

          b) To bring its members in closer contact to each other thus sharing knowledge.

          c) Open up dialog with the industry on Power Engineering related national issues.

 

In persuasion of these objects, the PHES shall,

          a) Provide forums for interchanging knowledge and information relating to the fields of Electrical Power Engineering, HV Engineering and Energy Systems among its members and other interested persons.

          b) Collect and disseminate information related to the Electrical Power Engineering, HV Engineering and Energy Systems.

 

Membership


          a) Any permanent and temporary staff member from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Peradeniya who has a direct or indirect interest towards Power, HV and Energy Systems

          b) Any postgraduate student who is specializing in the area of Power, HV and Energy Systems.

          c) All the final year undergraduate students who are taking the power systems as a major

          d) Honorary members-Retired Academics and Professionals proposed by the committee and approved by membership during an Annual General Meeting or a Special General Meeting-Category D

          e) Engineer who has direct interaction with Power, High Voltage and Energy system activities could apply for membership proposed by two members and approved by the committee.
