Aim(s)
To provide the students with necessary organizational behaviour tools to perform effectively in different organizational situations.
Intended Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe organizational behaviour models and relate them to real life/industrial situations.
  2. Create teams and identify characteristics of teams in the processors of motivation, conflict and stress management.
  3. Relate leadership models to real life situations.
  4. Describe the elements in the human resource cycle in an organization.
  5. Reflect cultural characteristics in teams.
Course Content
  1. Organizations and Importance Towards Effective Work:  Nature and scope of OB; elements and structure; need for studying OB;approaches to and models.
  2. The Individual:  Individual behaviour; employee attitudes and job satisfaction; personality and values; motivating and motivation; theories of motivation; content and process theories; motivational process.
  3. Group Dynamics:  Characteristics of group; advantages and disadvantages; types (formal and informal); problems of informal groups; techniques of group decision making; leadership; traits and approaches; communication; conflict and negotiation; power and politics.
  4. Human Resource Management:  Recruitment; training and development; assessing and improving performance; compensation.
  5. Organizational Behaviour and Culture:  Individual differences; organizational structure and culture; multinational organizations; women in industry.
  6. Organizational Development and Change:  Developmental process; change forces and types of change; resistance to change; costs and benefits; stress and conflict management; counselling.
