Brief Biography

Dr. Praharshin Melaka Senadeera joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya as a temporary Senior Lecturer in July 2015. He worked as a teaching assistant and research assistant in North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University from 2009-2014. He has also worked as a design engineer for M2Micro Inc., USA in 2011, as a Java/XML/XSL developer at Perot Systems, USA from 2008 to 2009 and at Nationwide Insurance, USA from 2007 to 2008. While in Sri Lanka Dr. Senadeera has worked as an Electrical Engineer at Tandon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka in 2005 and 2006.

He received several scholarly awards at North Carolina A & T State University including the award for scholarly accomplishment and academic excellence by the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) consecutively from 2009 to 2012. He has been a recipient of the Wadaran L. Kennedy 4.0 Scholars award granted by the School of Graduate Studies in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He has been a reviewer for several journals in IEEE, USA. Melaka is also a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and Phi Kappa Phi honor Society.
