DESIGN OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES TO EUROCODE 2

INTRODUCTION

Many countries, including Sri Lanka, used      BS 8110 as the code of practice for structural concrete design for a long spell. However, BS 8110 is now an obsolete package, its use was withdrawn completely by the British Standards Institution in the recent past, and the most users have been switching to the use of Eurocode 2 (EC2). In spite of contrasts, there are a number of similarities between these two codes of practice. Hence, with a concise study, BS 8110 users could familiarise with EC2 fundamentals. In this context, this course is planned to provide necessary support for this intended transition.
